Well-known Canadian scientists will visit the Medical University of Gdańsk. Prof. Philip F. Halloran, an expert in the field of transplantology and nephrology from the Nephrology Clinic of the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada, head of the Alberta Transplant Applied Genomics Centre and Konrad Famulski M.D. Ph.D., who cooperates with prof. Halloran will deliver lectures on September 19, 2018.

The scientists have been invited to the MUG by prof. Alicja Dębska-Ślizień, vice-dean of the Faculty of Medicine and head of the Department of Nephrology, Transplantology and Internal Diseases and Andrzej Chamienia, head of the MUG’s Department General Nursing. Prof. Halloran will give a lecture “Molecular analysis of transplant biopsies: insights into mechanisms of disease” and Konrad Famulski M.D. Ph.D. “The remarkable versatility of the molecular signature of acute kidney transplant injury”.

Lectures will take place in a conference room of the Nephrology, Transplantology and Internal Diseases Clinic (building no 7, 1st floor) at 9:30.

Prof. Halloran is an author of numerous publications in the field of transplantology and immunology, and his research was crucial for progress in this field. Currently, he works on new methods of molecular diagnostics of transplanted kidney pathology. In 2016, he was announced the most influential personality in the field of transplantology in the last 25 years.
