India at the MUG

24.08.2018

The MUG’s administration employees took part in the Indian Day, the first event of a series bringing various cultures. The event was organised by the Department of International Cooperation. Agnieszka Kuczkiewicz-Fraś Ph.D., an associate professor at the Institute of the Middle and Far East, Jagiellonian University in Krakow, presented history and culture of India.

Thanks to this, employees could understand the cultural diversity of India and get to know better this fascinating region. In addition, guests had an opportunity to taste regional cuisine, try on traditional clothing and watch regional dance. The co-organiser of the Indian Day was Sunil Ahuja, who has lived in Poland for 25 years and is a founder of the Centre of Indian Culture in Gdańsk. The originator of the series of events is Ewa Kiszka, head of the Department of International Cooperation.

There are 130 Indian students studying at the MUG’s English Division which makes them one of the most numerous groups at the University.
