The European Patent Office has decided to grant a patent for the invention “Solid lipid nanoparticles of roxitromycin for hair loss or acne” created by prof. Krzysztof Cal Ph.D. from the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology and Hanna Wosicka Ph.D. The innovative pharmaceutical composition containing roxithromycin can be used for the treatment of androgenic or acne-induced alopecia. Lipid micro- and nanoparticles were used as carriers of roxitromycin for the hair follicles in the process of the medicine’s production.
The Technology Transfer Centre coordinates the Innovation Incubator+ programme (Polish: Inkubator Innowacyjności+), which can finance the validation of the invention in selected European countries and maintenance of the patent in force.
