The MUG’s advance in the ranking

According to the latest ranking of the Higher Education 2017 by the Perspektywy Educational Foundation, the Medical University of Gdańsk took the 1st place as the Polish medical university, together with the Jagiellonian University Medical College, and the 7th place in the general category of the Polish universities. Over the past seven years, the MUG’s position advanced from the 18th place to the top ten, for which it was awarded the AWANS 2013 special award. The MUG is consistently the highest rated university of the Pomerania region.
– We are very pleased with the high position of our University in the ranking – said prof. Marcin Gruchała, Rector of MUG. – Remember, however, that this is the success of the entire academic community because people are the greatest value of the Medical University of Gdańsk. Their professional knowledge, experience, skills and motivation are the most valuable capital we have. Our employees, students, scientists and academic teachers achieve numerous successes in various fields, building strong position of the Medical University of Gdańsk in Poland and abroad.
In terms of teaching directions MUG is also in the forefront taking 3rd place in the fields of nursing and midwifery and 4th place in pharmacy and dentistry.
For many years the Medical University of Gdańsk has been consistently implementing the University’s development strategy in the field of scientific and innovative activities. The main success and confirmation of the leading role of MUG in the field of scientific and research activity is the high position in the ranking of categorizations of individual departments in external parametric evaluation. The Medical University of Gdańsk obtained the prestigious category A + of the Faculty of Pharmacy with Subfaculty of Laboratory Medicine and Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology UG & MUG and the high category A of the other faculties – the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Health Sciences with Subfaculty of Nursing and Ifnstitute of Maritime and Tropical Medicine.
