Krzysztof Pietruczuk M.D. Ph.D., Katarzyna Lisowska M.D. Ph.D. and prof. Jacek Witkowski M.D. Ph.D. from the Department of Physiopathology together with Karol Grabowski M.D. Ph.D. and prof. Jerzy Landowski from the Department of Adult Psychiatry published an article “Proliferation and apoptosis of T lymphocytes in patients with bipolar disorder” in the Scientific Reports, a nature research journal. The work summarises the doctoral dissertation of Krzysztof Pietruczuk M.D. Ph.D., whose corresponding author was Katarzyna Lisowska M.D. Ph.D. The aim of the study was to evaluate proliferation capacity and susceptibility to apoptosis of T lymphocytes of patients with bipolar disorder (BD) and to investigate in vitro influence of two standard mood stabilizers: lithium and valproic acid on these parameters using flow cytometry.
