The report “Foreign students in Poland” is a periodic publication prepared by analysts of the Study in Poland programme presenting the most up-to-date data on foreign students at Polish universities. Some of them are exclusive, unpublished data of the Central Statistical Office of Poland. The report analyses trends on the Polish educational market and the evolution in the composition of a group of foreign students over the years.

The information contained in the current report shows that the MUG ranks 20th on the list of leading Polish universities in terms of the number of foreign students (2017 – 867 students). It is worth noting that this is a ranking taking into account only the number of foreign students, and not the share of those in the total number of students. In the MUG, 19% of students are foreign students, thanks to which the University ranks 1st among Pomeranian universities in terms of the number of foreigners.

Analysing the origin of foreigners studying at Polish universities, the MUG excels in the education of people from Sweden (391), Saudi Arabia (72), India (61), Norway (65), Canada (28), Belarus (22), Iraq (20), Germany (19) and the USA (18).

The medicine field of study is one of the most popular courses in Poland (2017 – 6785 students). The MUG took the second place in terms of the number of students in this field (828 persons) just behind the Medical University of Lublin (1031 persons).

From next year, the University will offer six programs of study in foreign languages, so the MUG’s position in the next report may improve.
