Patent for the MUG’s scientists

The Polish Patent Office (PPO) issued a decision on granting a patent for the invention “Diagnostic test to identify the pathogenic potential of the genus Enterococcus”. The authors of the invention are: Tomasz Jarzembowski Ph.D. and Katarzyna Wiśniewska Ph.D. from the Department of Medical Microbiology; prof. Ewa Bryl and Agnieszka Daca M.D. Ph.D. from the Department of Pathology and Experimental Rheumatology, prof. Jacek Witkowski from the Department of Physiopathology and prof. Bolesław Rutkowski from the Department of Nephrology, Transplantology and Internal Diseases.

The team of scientists received, among other rewards, co-financing of the project under the Incubator of Innovation + programme coordinated by the Innovation and Knowledge Transfer Section. The support received will allow to validate the developed method by a commercial laboratory and to evaluate of the bacterial infection potential in the diagnosis of urinary tract infections.
