Professor nomination and award for genetics

Prof. Janusz Limon

The President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, awarded the professor degrees to the employees of the art and science, as well as academic teachers. Among 82 persons awarded was prof. Wojciech Kamysz, head of the MUG’s Department of Inorganic Chemistry. At the same time, prof. Janusz Limon, head of the MUG’s Department of Biology and Medical Genetics has been recognised for his remarkable scientific achievements in the field of cancer genetics: a discovery of the molecular basis of selected sarcomas and significance of gene mutations in differential diagnosis, treatment monitoring and prognosis in patients with genetic tumors and together with 44 other scientists received the Prime Minister’s award.
