Co-financing for the MUG’s Sports Centre

Rector of the Medical University of Gdańsk, prof. Marcin Gruchała, secretary of state in the Ministry of Sport and Tourism Jarosław Stawiarski, president of the Pomeranian Football Association Radosław Michalski, chancellor Marek Langowski, head of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Anna Kubicka, as well as members of the Polish Parliament Grzegorz Raczak and Janusz Śniadek took part in a press conference dedicated to the construction of the MUG’s Sports Centre. In 2017-2018, the University will receive 7 200 000 PLN from the Fund for Development of Physical Culture. The estimated cost of the investment is 19 000 000 PLN, the strategic partner of which is the Pomeranian Football Association. The Sports Centre will be built on the plot at 21 Dębowa street in Gdańsk. The building will include a sports arena of 1100 m2 with futsal, handball, basketball and volleyball courts, as well as aerobics, squash, martial arts and wrestling halls. The facility also features a tribune with 748 seats, 2 changing rooms for men and women (including disabled), underground garage with 103 parking spaces and bike stands for 22 bicycles. The construction works have commenced on July 18th and a planned date of completion is July 31st, 2018. The authors of the project is Archimedia, the architecture office from Poznań and a contractor is Przembud SA, Gdańsk-based company.
