The meeting of the Polish Iron Club is the international conference which was organised under the patronages of rectors of three local universities: the Medical University of Gdańsk, the University of Gdansk and the Gdansk University of Physical Education and Sport. The idea of the event is to integrate Polish research groups dealing with the issues of iron biology in basic and clinical sciences, as well as scientific experience exchange. This year’s conference was dedicated to hepcidin. The lectures delivered Martina Muckenthaler from the Heidelberg University in Germany, Hal Drakesmith from the Oxford University in the UK and Sophie Vaulont from the Institut Cochin in Paris, among others.
