MUG’s specialist contributes to national recommendations of the Polish Society of Gynecologic Oncology

The MUG’s specialist from the Department Oncologic Surgery, Jacek Sznurkowski M.D. Ph.D., has significantly contributed to the first national recommendations for the diagnosis and treatment of endometrial, vulvar, cervical and ovarian cancer. Jacek Sznurkowski M.D. Ph.D. who is a member of the board of the Polish Society of Gynecologic Oncology, actively supports Polish gynecologists, clinical oncologists and radiotherapists in diagnosis and treatment planning for women with malignant neoplasms according to the standards in force.

The Polish recommendations, published in June this year, are not only consistent with the standards in force in Europe and the US, but they also contain an innovative tool for assessing the effectiveness of oncological treatment, a benchmark indicator for an appropriate utility rate of surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy. Comparing benchmark indicators and used patterns will help the Ministry of Health to assess the treatment accuracy in individual oncological centres within the Coordinated Care Project.
