Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Industry is the name of a new field of study created by the MUG in cooperation with Polpharma SA. It is a two-year master’s degree programme at the Faculty of Pharmacy, the Subfaculty of Laboratory Medicine. These unique studies combine theoretical education with industrial practice. Students of the new degree course will be able to develop their chemical and biological knowledge with an emphasis on practical methods of cosmetics and medicines production, as well as their quality control, marketing and distribution. Subjects of the studies will include formulation technology, medicines and cosmetic analysis, biotechnology, pharmacology and toxicology, legislation, pre-registration research and technology transfer, as well as good practice of manufacturing and distribution. Apart from the MUG’s academic teachers, the subjects will be taught by 24 Polpharma’s employees.
The studies start on October 1st, 2017, and will begin with theoretical subjects. The first practical classes are scheduled for February 2018. The studies can take graduates with the bachelor’s degree and master’s degrees related to biology, chemistry, physics or medicine.
