Aleksandra Gaworska-Krzemińska M.D. Ph.D., Head of the MUG Department of Nursing, participated in the International Council of Nurses Congress (ICN Congress) in Barcelona. Poland was represented by 20 nurses from the Polish Medical Universities. Presentation “Analysis of the relation of burnout syndrome with global self-esteem among Polish nurses and midwives” was delivered by Ewa Kupcewicz, M.D. Ph. D. from the Faculty of Medical Sciences at University of Warmia and Mazury. Bożena Gorzkowicz M.D. Ph. D. from the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin presented results of the research done with cooperation with the Medical University of Łodz and the MUG: “The evaluation of the possibility of implementing ICNP® into nursing practice in Poland”. The International Council of Nurses (ICN) is a federation of more than 130 national nurses associations representing the millions of nurses worldwide. Founded in 1899, ICN is the world’s first and widest reaching international organisation for health professionals. Operated by nurses and leading nursing internationally, ICN works to ensure quality nursing care for all and sound health policies globally. The main objectives of the Congress are to demonstrate and advance the nursing contribution to informed and sustainable health policies, to support nursing’s contribution to evidence-based healthcare, and to encourage problem-solving approaches to health priority needs and to provide opportunities for an in-depth exchange of experience and expertise within and beyond the international nursing community.
