Belgrade, the capital city of Serbia, was the host city of the 19th International Congress on Hyperbaric Medicine (ICHM). The event’s programme, among other activities, consisted of workshops dedicated to hyperbaric oxygen therapy which presented the principles of hyperbaric practice in the US and Europe. The American side was represented by Paul Claus M.D. Ph.D. from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, and the European side by Jacek Kot M.D. Ph.D., Head of the National Hyperbaric Medicine Centre MUG in Gdynia who is also a president of the European Underwater Baromedical Society (www.eubs.org) and a secretary of the European Committe for Hyperbaric Medicine (www.echm.org).
