From a historical point of view, a microscope is one of the most important instruments of the scientific revolution. Its invention enabled a human eye to perceive the inaccessible world and a complete change of the cognitive horizon. Great development of medicine in the nineteenth century was due to the microscope’s invention. Even today we cannot imagine the diagnostics and research without this instrument.
Recently, the collection of the MUG Museum has been enriched by another very interesting microscope, the history of which is associated with our University.
Presented microscope was donated to the Museum by Marek Kozłowski M.D. Ph.D., who received it from his father, prof. Henryk Kozłowski, Head of the Department of Pathological Anatomy of the Medical Academy (1964-1972), then Head of Laboratory and Pathological Anatomy Diagnostics of Institute of Obstetric and Gynecology (1972-1981).
