Prof. Paul F. Grundeman visiting the MUG

Prof. Paul F. Grundeman, a cardiovascular specialist from the University Medical Center Utrecht (UMCU) visited the MUG on the 7th of March. The aim of the visit was to discuss potential projects, which in the future can pursue together Gdańsk and Utrecht centers. Prof. Grundeman met with prof. Marcin Gruchała, the MUG Rector, prof. Edyta Szurowska, Ph.D., Vice-Rector for Clinical Affairs and prof. Krzysztof Narkiewicz, Head of the Department of Hypertension and Diabetology. It is worth noting that the first joint initiative of doctors from Gdańsk, Utrecht and Amsterdam dates back to the 70s of the twentieth century when they carried out together an open heart surgery. Currently cooperation between the MUG and the UMCU focuses on the issues of immunology and fighting against cancer. The one-day visit of prof. Grundeman in Gdańsk was an opportunity to exchange experiences, discuss current issues related to the protection of health, as well as education and medical innovation.
