Exhibition in the Main Library inaugurated

The opening ceremony of the exhibition in the Main Library was held on the 6th February. Guests were welcomed by Anna Grygorowicz, the library director, prof. Marcin Gruchała, the MUG rector and prof. Janusz Limon, who organised the exhibition. Among visitors were former rectors – prof. Barbara Krupa-Wojciechowska, prof. Zdzisław Wajda, prof. Wieslaw Makarewicz, prof. Roman Kaliszan and prof. Janusz Moryś, as well as representatives of the MUG authorities – prof. Jacek Bigda, prof. Tomasz Smiatacz and chancellor Marek Langowski.

The exhibition presents numerous original documents illustrating the preparation process of the very first inauguration of the former Medical Academy, text of the speech delivered by the first rector, prof. Edward Grzegorzewski, congratulatory letters, students IDs and students’ record books, and others. The exhibition complements a video which displays unique moments and people who at the very beginning created the history of the University.
