Scientists of the MUG in the Public Health Council

Dr Tadeusz Jedrzejczyk from the Department of Public Health and Social Medicine became a chairman of the Gdansk Public Health Council. The Council was established in December last year and is ancillary to the authorities of Gdansk. Its activities comprise oncology, children dentistry, seniors programs and mental health of young people. The Council consists of 12 specialists, including as many as eight specialists from the Medical University of Gdańsk. The position of Deputy Chairman entrusted to Dr Hanna Kujawska-Danecka from the Clinic of Internal Medicine, Connective Tissue Diseases and Geriatrics. Among other members are prof. Piotr Czauderna, Head of the Clinic of Surgery and Urology for Children and Adolescents, prof. Katarzyna Emerich, Head of the Department of Paediatric Dentistry, prof. Tomasz Zdrojewski, Head of the Department of Preventive Medicine and Education, prof. Katarzyna Plata-Nazar from the Clinic of Paediatrics, Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Paediatric Nutrition and employees of the Department of Public Health and Social Medicine – dr Łukasz Balwicki and dr Michał Brzeziński.

The aim of the Gdansk Public Health Council is to develop solutions to improve existing health programmes and create new ones. The most popular health programme is the 6-10-14 for Health, which has been carried out by the University Clinical Center for the last six years.
