Dr. Arkadiusz Piotrowski (Qualified Collaborator) and Dr. Rafał Bartoszewski (Collaborator), MUG associate professors, together with Professor Ludwine Messiaen (Principal Investigator) from The University of Alabama at Birmingham received a research grant funded by the U.S. Department of Defense (Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs, Neurofibromatosis Research Program).
Title of the project: “Characterization of Alternative Predisposition Loci for Schwannomatosis in SMARCB1/LZTR1-Negative Cases”. The project is a continuation and further development of studies which were reported in Piotrowski et al. 2014, Nat Genet. 46:182-7.
The project will be carried out in local collaboration with the Bank of Frozen Tissues & Genetic Specimens and the Leading National Research Center at the Faculty of Pharmacy with Subfaculty of Laboratory Medicine.
The award amounts to 647 894 USD, including 243 480 USD subaward for MUG.
