MUG researcher awarded the Heweliusz Prize

Prof. Krzysztof Narkiewicz, Head of the MUG Department of Hypertension and Diabetology, was awarded by the City of Gdańsk the 2014 Jan Heweliusz Scientific Prize in the natural sciences category. The prize Commission recognized prof. Narkiewicz for his exceptional achievements in discovering new mechanisms connecting circulatory diseases with breathing disturbances during sleep.

The Prize will be presented during a ceremony at the Town Hall of the Main City (Ratusz Głównego Miasta Gdańska) on January 28th at Noon. The Jan Heweliusz Prize, nicknamed “the Gdańsk Noble Prize,” is the most important scientific distiction in the Pomorskie region of Poland. It was established in 1987 as a way to recognize exceptional achievements of the members of the local scientific community.
