Cutting-edge bioengineering lectures at the MUG

26.11.2014

Prof. Lawrence W. Dobrucki from the Department of Bioengineering and Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology (University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign) will present two guest lectures as part of the “Profesor KNOW” programme.

The first lecture will take place on December 1st 2014 („Targeted Imaging of Cellular Receptors – New Tool in Medical Diagnostics”), whereas the second on December 8th 2014 (“Molecular Imaging Applications in Cardiovascular Research”). Both lectures will take place at 12:45 in seminar room 1.39 at the Laboratory Medicine Centre (on the ground floor of Building 27 of the University Clinical Centre).

Prof. Dobrucki is an expert in the field of multimodal molecular imaging and his research interests include developing new targeted micro-SPECT/PET-CT imaging strategies to assess the angiogenesis of coronary and peripheral vessels in animal models of diseases such as diabetes; standardizing the imaging protocols on small animals; validation of new SPECT/PET radiomarkers and CT contrast agents.
