After four years of activity and with over 180000 “likes”, the Dawca.pl (Polish for “Donor”) project ran by a team of students (mostly from the Medical University of Gdańsk) is the largest organ transplantation awareness campaign on Facebook. In addition, over 54000 people joined the Dawca.pl organ donor club. “Our whole team is proud of this,” said Paweł Klimkowicz, coordinator of the Dawca.pl campaign. “By using Facebook, we immediately see the results of our work. However we remember about other social media like Twitter or Instagram, because our goal is to inform as many people as possible about organ donorship.”
The campaign’s goal is to promote organ donation and increase public awareness about organ transplantation.
