MUG researcher published in "Nature Genetics"

Dr hab. Arkadiusz Piotrowski from the MUG Department of Biology and Pharmaceutical Botany and prof. prof. Ludwine Messiaen (Department of Genetics, The University of Alabama at Birmingham) are originators and coordinators of a research project that resulted in identifying the mutations of the LZTR1 gene which predispose patients to schwannomatosis – a genetic disease associated with multiple tumors of the peripheral nerves. Dr Piotr Madanecki, a bioinformatics scientist from the MUG Department of Biology and Pharmaceutical Botany is one of the coauthors of the resulting paper published in “Nature Genetics” (Impact Factor = 35.2).
