On September 5th 2013, the Polish Society of Pediatric Endocrinology (PSPE) awarded MUG researchers for the best scientific papers in 2011 and 2012.
The team consisting of N. Marek-Trzonkowska, M. Myśliwiec, A. Dobyszuk, M. Grabowska, I. Techmańska, J. Juscińska, M. A. Wujtewicz, P. Witkowski, W. Młynarski, A. Balcerska, J. Myśliwska i P. Trzonkowski received the Tomasz E. Romer Award for their work “Administration of CD4+CD25highCD127- regulatory T cells preserves B-cell function in type 1 diabetes in children”. Whereas the PSPE Board of Directors Award went to N. Marek, A. Krzystyniak, I. Ergenc, O. Cochet, R. Misawa, L. J. Wang, K. Gołąb, X. Wang, G. Kilimnik, M. Hara, S. Kizilel, P. Trzonkowski, J. M. Millis and P. Witkowski who published the article “Coating human pancreatic islets with CD4+CD25highCD127- regulatory T cells as a novel aproach for the local immunoprotection”.
