MUG student-scientists succeed in Kraków

Kamila Szczepańska i Martyna Jóźwiak, 3rd year medical students from the Student Scientific Club at the MUG Department of Pathomorphology won 1st place in the Hematology & Oncology oral session at the International Medical Students’ Conference in Kraków on April 18-20th 2013. Students won for their research “Evaluation of frequency of secondary malignancies in surgically resected large cell carcinoma of the lung”, supervised by dr Piotr Czapiewski.

Alicja Góralczyk, 5th year medical student won 1st place in the Dermatology session for her work “Characteristics and clinical significance of dermatologic side effects associated with targeted antineoplastic therapy” Whereas Natasza Gilis-Siek and Monika Cackowska, both 4th year medical students, won 1st place in the Cardiosurgery session “Drug-eluting stents in patiens with stable angina and chronic total occlusion”), whereas Marlena Baranowska (4th year student), Ewelina Pączek and Arkadiusz Koronkiewicz (both 5th year medical students) won 3rd place in the same session.
