The Tricity Health Festival successfully completed

Nearly 200 bears were examined at the Teddy Bear Hospital during the 2nd edition of the Tricity Health Festival which took place on April 6th 2012 at the Galeria Bałtycka in Gdańsk. This event was organized by the members of the MUG Student Government (USS GUMed) together with IFMSA-Gdańsk. Members of various MUG Student Scientific Clubs and several doctors joined them in action.

Students conducted screening tests (for example: blood glucose and cholesterol levels, blood pressure, EKG) and offered consultations with doctors to several hundred residents of the Tricity and the surrounding region. There was an opportunity to learn from experienced paramedics about how to give first aid, as well as how to do a breast self-examination and even try to perform a microbiology test.

Children participated in contests testing their knowledge of health and hygiene, with fun prizes. The next edition of the Festival is planned for the spring 2014.
