Prof. Miłosz Jaguszewski from the 1st Department of Cardiology is the co-author of the success edited together with Prof. Juan Luis Guteirrez-Chico magazine Cardiology Journal, which Impact Factor for 2021 according to the Journal Citation Reports 2022 amounted to 3.487, which is the highest result in the history of the periodical.

Moreover, for the first time in history, the Cardiology Journal was promoted to the 2nd quartile of journals in categories related to the cardiovascular system, noting an increase in all significant indicators. Currently, it is also the highest-scored journal in the field of cardiology in Poland on the list of the Ministry of Education and Science – 100 points.

Prof. Miłosz Jaguszewski took the position of Editor-in-Chief of the periodical in 2016, and in his work he is supported by the 1st Department of Cardiology of the MUG.

I have been running the Cardiology Journal for several years – says Prof. Jaguszewski. – The results of the magazine in recent years are the fruit of real teamwork – the entire editorial office and the editorial board. I think that thanks to these people, section editors, great authors and scientists evaluating the work, we are on the right track to create the best journal on cardiovascular diseases in this part of Europe. This is also the goal that we set for ourselves in the coming years.

An equally significant success was achieved by Prof. Jarosław Sławek, Head of the Division of Neurological and Psychiatric Nursing, who, together with Prof. Zbigniew Wszołek from the Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville, FL (USA) is the Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Polish Journal of Neurology and Neurosurgery (Neurologia i Neurochirurgia Polska). In this year’s edition of the Journal Citation Reports, the bimonthly achieved a high IF index of 2.223, thus improving last year’s score at 1.621.

Issued in Gdańsk, the Neurologia i Neurochirurgia Polska has been published since 1938 and is one of the oldest neurological journals in the world. It is owned by the Polish Neurological Society, which will celebrate its 90th anniversary next year. It is also the only journal in the field of clinical neurology and neurosurgery in Central and Eastern Europe with such an impact factor.

I encourage everyone to submit papers in the field of neurology, neurosurgery, neuropsychology, neurorehabilitation, neuroradiology, neuropathology and other related fields. We should also remember that by citing works from our Polish magazines from the last 2 years, we not only support our colleagues, but also raise the rank of national periodicals – emphasizes Prof. Sławek.

Another major success is the result achieved by the Cellular and Molecular Biology Letters, which Associate Editor is Prof. Rafał Bartoszewski from the Department of Biology and Pharmaceutical Botany. The editorial team also includes Prof. Leszek Kalinowski, Head of the Department of Clinical Analytics and Prof. Michał Żmijewski from the Department of Histology. The journal obtained an Impact Factor for 2021 of 8.702. Last year the IF of the periodical was 5.787.
