MUG scientists at the EUROSON 2019 Congress in Granada

The research workers of the Medical University of Gdańsk and doctors from the University Clinical Centre, the MUD hospital participated in the the 31st European Congress of Ultrasound EUROSON 2019. This year the annual meeting of the European Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (EFSUMB) was held in Granada, Spain.

The annual EUROSON meeting provides physicians of all specialities with the opportunity to meet, discuss and learn about all current trends in Ultrasound and the latest technological developments, industry breakthroughs and guidelines for ultrasound applications.

During the three days of the event, the participants of the Congress were introduced to, among others, the research of prof. Wojciech Kosiak on the use of ultrasonography in the diagnosis of focal lesions monitored in pediatric hematooncological patients and diagnosis of pulmonary embolism in children.

The lung ultrasound was one of the most frequently discussed topics during the EUROSON 2019 Congress. Dr Natalia Buda, Chair and Clinic of Internal Diseases, Connective Tissue Diseases and Geriatrics presented differential diagnosis of suboptural consolidations.

Among other members of the MUG faculty there were also doctors from the Laboratory of Ultrasound and Biopsy Diagnostics at the Department of Paediatrics, Hematology and Oncology – dr Tomasz Batko, dr Jakub Wiśniewski, Błażej Littwin, M.D. oraz Andrzej Pomiećko, M.D. They presented the possibilities of new possibilities of using ultrasound in paediatrics.
