MUG football team wins National Championship

The MUG football team won a historic victory at the National Football Championships on May 21-24 2015 in Bydgoszcz. It has been 10 years since our team won the championship (as the Medical Academy of Gdańsk in 1995) and this is the first time under the name of Medical University of Gdańsk.

Two years of intense training and preparations have paid off: we won the championship – stated coach Dariusz Łyżwiński, MSc.

The undefeated MUG team was led by captain Mateusz Czajkowski in the following victories: against Bydgoszcz 3:0, Kraków 3:1, Poznań 3:0, Białystok 5:0 (semifinals) and the final match against Łódź 1:0. Whereas Konrad Szydłowski (II year of medicine) was voted the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
