MUG climbs the rankings

The MUG ranked 11th of all the Polish universities ranked in the 2014 edition of the ranking conducted by the respected news magazines “Perspektywy” and “Rzeczpospolita.” This year the MUG was ranked one place higher than before and in the last 3 years it advanced from the 20th to 11th place. In the same ranking the MUG placed higher than any other university in the Pomorskie province.

This year’s edition ranked 195 universities (88 academic, 80 private and 27 public vocational).

The top place belongs to University of Warsaw with Collegium Medicum of the Jagiellonian University closely following and with Adam Mickiewicz University in the 3rd place.

The MUG retined its 4th place ranking among the medical universities, with Collegium Medicum of the Jagiellonian University in the lead.

In the detailed ranking of programs of study, the MUG respectively took 3rd place (MD program), 4th (dental program), 5th (healthcare) and 8th (pharmacy).

This ranking is based on 33 specific criteria comprising 8 groups: prestige among employers, academic prestige, research potential, effectiveness of research, innovativeness, published research, conditions for teaching and internationalization. The main changes in this year’s edition were: increasing the weight of the “innovativeness” group from 5% to 9% and no longer considering the universities’ achievements in sports.
