In in his recent Forum Akademickie article “Two academic rankings. Categorizing the faculties vs the Hirsch index” (“Dwa rankingi naukowe. Kategoryzacja wydziałów uczelni a indeks Hirscha.”), prof. dr. hab. Janusz Gil ranked Polish universities. He correlated the parametric categories of particular faculties (for the years 2009-2012) with their Hirsch index (number of citations of papers published in the Web of Science). Both rankings measure the amount of papers published in the most influential academic journals. According to prof. Gil’s results, the MUG is ranked the highest of all medical universities in Poland and overall holds 10th place (out of 92 universities).
