The Youth Meetings with Medicine started from the lecture “What about the gluten” Dominika Borzyszkowska and Izabella Mularczyk, students from VI High School in Gdynia. After the lecture the presentation about the development of thoracic surgery given by Tomasz Marjański Ph.D., from Chair & Clinic of Thoracic Surgery. Marcin Ostrowski M.D. told about Polish transplantation. Youth Meetings of Medicine were unique because the first time in the 5-years history of the lecture has one of the most remarkable patients in the modern history of Polish medicine. Marek Breguła exactly 15 years ago, 25 October 2001. In the Silesian Center for Heart Diseases in Zabrze first time in Poland were made at the same time a lung transplant and heart. The operation was performed by a team led by prof. Marian Zembala. Meeting took place on October 25th 2016 at the Atheneum Gedanense Novum.
